Overview

This programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). If you join the Institute as a student member and complete the mapped modules, you will receive a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice on completion of your degree.

This specialist degree offers the rigorous training and applied insights needed to work in today’s financial markets.

Core modules will develop your understanding of the wider financial industry. Pathway modules will teach you how to apply this core financial knowledge to address key issues within your specialist sector.

This integrated structure will help you understand the different financial sectors and train you to evaluate strategic options within an applied setting.

The Wealth Management Pathway

The Wealth Management pathway provides an insight into the financial planning processes required to manage personal finance, credit, investment and other wealth management tasks.

Using your analytical skills, you will learn how to make calculated decisions that successfully weigh up the financial benefits with the potential risks. You’ll cover principles of investment products, such as capital protection, hedge funds, structured products, and real estate.

Classes are designed to simulate a real-life experience of the financial industry. You’ll benefit from hands-on training, including access to the University’s Thomson Reuters Eiken Terminals, Bloomberg L.P Terminals, Datastream including Worldscope databases and a dedicated trading room.

This degree will train you as a successful wealth and asset manager, who is able to provide effective financial planning solutions that meet the needs of high-net-worth clients.

Assessment

Most of the taught modules will have a final exam as a 50% component of the final total module mark combined with another type of assessment.

The assessment will include group and individual projects and case studies that will enable you to be assessed on your ability to create, innovate, and understand current market and industry conditions using live and current data and information.

Module assessments will also include group and individual coursework, presentations, and trading simulation reflective practice portfolio.
