Are you ready to take your music therapy training to the next level? Slippery Rock University's Master of Music Therapy program is designed to prepare advanced-level professional music therapists in a nationally accredited program to work in the rapidly-expanding field of music therapy by providing students with the opportunity to expand the breadth and depth of their knowledge and skills in music therapy.

DESCRIPTION

SRU's Master of Music Therapy program will prepare graduates to have an advanced knowledge of and skills in music therapy theory, clinical practice, and research. Graduates will attain advanced musical and artistic skills and awareness of personal, cultural, and social factors that impact the therapeutic relationship and an in-depth understanding of their professional role.

HIGHLIGHTS

Slippery Rock University's Master of Music Therapy offers:

A 36 or 48 credit hour blended program with a two year rotating curriculum
A flexible and convenient blended format (interactive online classes and face-to-face intensives) ideal for working professionals and second career musicians
Unique advanced music therapy training with a strong emphasis on multicultural, social justice, insight oriented, resource oriented approaches
Courses taught by distinguished internationally recognized faculty

A graduate applicant has completed the equivalent of a U.S. Baccalaureate (bachelor) degree and wishes to pursue a Master degree program. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 79 on the internet based test (IBT); Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score of a 6.5 or higher. ELS Schools official score report with a 112 result or higher.
